Game studio Ember Lab recently posted on social media some critical information about their upcoming video game Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Several video games coming to PlayStation 4 and as well the next-gen console PlayStation 5 have their own thing when it comes to upgrades. Some developers say they will have free upgrades, while others need “specific conditions” to make that happen. *cough* Control Ultimate Edition *cough*
Kena: Bridge of Spirits was one of those titles that were revealed during the PS5 reveal event last June. It was announced that it will launch on PS4 and PS5 this coming holiday season. It will come to PC, but it will be a timed exclusive for the console so at a later date.
One fan asked if the game will get a PS4 to PS5 upgrade mechanic. Ember Lab gladly answered that it will get such an upgrade for free without any requirements.
This is a good way to promote their game and more people will be interested to buy it later on. Hopefully other developers and publishers will follow their example.
