A new leak claims that the God of War Ragnarök release date (internal) just moved back.
God of War Ragnarök Release Date Moved Back
It seems Ragnarök will be taking place a little while longer as the placeholder release date got moved back. According to PlayStation Game Size, the new God of War Ragnarök release date has changed from September 30, 2022 to the new December 31, 2022. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how this goes.
The Bad
Speculations say that the game might have been delayed by Santa Monica Studios. Moving it back to December 31, 2022 just means that the release date could be in the fourth quarter of the year or even beyond that. The delay could be several things: needs more time, content needs more polish, tons of bugs to squash, original idea did not work had to go back to square one, and many other situations.
The Good
On the other hand, changing the placeholder release date could mean Ragnarök might get announced soon. Santa Monica Studio is now preparing for the big announcement and they want to have an insurance date just in case there could be sudden bumps along the road. The release date could either be before the placeholder or even near it. The placeholder date there is not the real official release date, so rest assured.
There is also the fact that Santa Monica Studios’ Twitter account still says that the game will launch in 2022. This might get changed later on though and if rumors are true, the big announcement will be on Summer Game Fest 2022.
God of War Ragnarök will be available on PS4 and PS5.
