Square Enix confirms the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV will raise the level cap.
The current gap right now on Final Fantasy XIV is level 90 which got introduced in Endwalker but it has been confirmed that this year’s expansion will raise that to a new level cap. According to Game Director Naoki Yoshida via Games Radar, the next level cap will now be level 100.
After that level cap though is still murky. Yoshi-P did not share any more details of their plans for the next expansion so we are in the dark.
Yoshi-P did not leave everyone hanging though but left the fans with something to think about. He said that if increasing the level cap to level 110 would be done in the next-next expansion, it would feel like it was a halfway measure. He seems to be saying that the 10 level increase will not cut it. It could be possible more levels will be added to celebrate the level 100 mark. Maybe level 125?
We will know sometime in 2025 as Square Enix likes to release their FFXIV expansions in the span of two years. Endwalker did get delayed by five months due to the COVID pandemic, but that will not stop the company to get back on track and release the expansion in two years.
Final Fantasy XIV is now available on PC, PS4 and PS5.
