The Destiny 2 Tormentor is a new enemy type being introduced in the Lightfall expansion. These giant creatures look intimidating carrying a large scythe that makes them look like the grim reaper. Let’s take a moment to congratulate Bungie for an enemy design a tad bit early for Halloween.
So what is the Tormentor in Destiny 2 and what makes this enemy type something to look out for in particular?
What is the Destiny 2 Lightfall Tormentor?
Tormentors are powerful humanoid enemies in Destiny 2 that are being controlled by The Witness. They have powerful abilities that can manipulate the Void and suppress Light. Watch out for their Dark Harvest ability where they draw you in, suck your health, and then throw you away.
The big scythes that the Destiny 2 Tormentors are using give them close to mid ranged combat capabilities. Which means that getting too close to one could potentially be fatal. Here’s where long ranged tactics may be more preferable when dealing with Tormentors.
Due to how large Tormentors are in Destiny 2, hitting them won’t be a problem. Though we imagine that they’ll be particularly tanky to compensate for their large hitbox. There aren’t as much details revealed about them as of yet, but we expect that they’ll be one of the toughest opponents in the Lightfall expansion.
We aren’t quite sure what drops the Destiny 2 Tormentor will potentially give you upon defeat, but we expect them to be good. These guys can make even Lightbearers look like cannon fodder so expect a difficult fight. We advice you best keep your distance when fighting these things.
Tormentors will be haunting your every move when Destiny 2 Lightfall releases this February 28, 2023. You should take the time to grab some exotics before the Lightfall expansion drops so you’ll be prepared.
