Destiny 2 Parting the Veil Quest Walkthrough

The “Parting the Veil” quest is the follow-up to the Lightfall campaign. In this one, Osiris is researching the true nature of the Veil. It’s about the only thing we can do after losing this round to the Witness.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the quest, what you can expect from each encounter and the rewards you’ll get at the end.

    Parting the Veil Quest Steps

There are 6 steps in the quest. They will take you all over the city taking down Cabal and Vex targets. At the last step of the quest, the Witness’s heavy hitters come out of the work to challenge you for the right to possess the Veil.

Step 1: Defeat Cabal in Neomuna to find Vex tracking data

You’ll need 10 pieces of tracking data. But similar to getting Vex data, not all Cabal units will have them. You’ll just have to keep killing Cabal until they drop. Ahimsa Park is your bet to finding Cabal patrols.

Step 2: Acquire Vex data from Maya’s Retreat

This step takes place in the approach to Maya’s Retreat. In the cave where you usually go up to the city’s outskirts, you’ll find the Vex there in force. The targets here are the “Interlocutor Harpies” that are shielded from attack. Fight off waves of enemies until one breaks loose. Kill it and then rinse and repeat until all the harpies have been dealt with. The Wyverns will be the enemy to watch out for at every wave. High single-damage weapons will make it easier for you.

To complete the step, interact with the conflux and gather the necessary information.

Step 3: Acquire additional Vex data from the exterior of the Irkalla Complex

The next location you need to go to is the outside of Veil Containment at the Irkalla Complex. Remember, this is where we had to go at the end of the Lightfall campaign to face Callus at the finale.

Clear the outside of the Veil Complex to finish the step and start Step 4.

Step 4: Complete the “Parting the Veil” mission.

The mission is kind of simple, for the most part. You’ll enter the like normal, and you get to listen to more lore about the Veil. At the end of the mission, you’ll have to fight a Tormentor in the same place where you fought Callus.

Step 5: Meditate on your findings

Go back to the Hall of Heroes and interact with the Pouka Pond to receive your Epochal Integration Legendary Hand Cannon. You’ll need an open inventory slot to acquire the weapon.

Step 6: Pick up your next Stand Aspec at the table.

At this point, you can also pick the new Strand fragment for your chosen class. The best thing is that you don’t need to complete the mission again on multiple accounts. They’re already there. Additionally, you don’t need to spend meditation points to acquire them either.

There’s not much in this quest besides the weapon the new Strand fragment. The lore is nice and all, so there’s that. Bungie hasn’t hinted at a follow-up anytime soon so this might all we get in terms of Veil knowledge in the immediate future. (We still would like to know how Cayde-6 fits into all of this but those are questions for another day.)

That’s all we have for this Parting the Veil walkthrough guide. We hope you find this information useful in some shape or form. Good luck and have fun other, Guardians.

Destiny 2 Season of the Deep is out now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. The season will run from May 23, 2023, to August 22, 2023.
