Konami has finally made a statement to confirm the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 resolution and framerate.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Real Facts Revealed
The game company recently shared a statement with IGN to clear up the confusion with the resolution and framerate of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. Before, it was thought that across all platforms, the collection will be 720p/30fps only. It turns out, that is not the case.
Konami Clears Up Confusion
According to Konami, the collection has a 1080p/60fps “target” on all platforms except for Nintendo Switch. The game targets 1080p/60fps on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. On Nintendo Switch, the collection will only run at 720p/30fps in handheld mode and will be 1080p/30fps while docked. There are no platforms that will run the collection at 4K resolution, unfortunately.
Where All the Confusion Started
All of the confusion started when media outlet Nintendo Life released details of their hands-on preview of the game on Nintendo Switch. Since the game ran on 720p/30fps on the handheld console, it was presumed that all other platforms had the same resolution and framerate too. Glad that Konami finally cleared this away.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 launches on October 24, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
