Mercy Among Thieves is a quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 where the Arisen helps out in catching the thieves that are behind the oxcart raids happening in the road to Battahl. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Mercy Among Thieves quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How to unlock the Mercy Among Thieves quest

To unlock the Mercy Among Thieves quest, head over to the south border gate of Checkpoint Rest Town that connects to the road that leads to Battahl. From there, you will hear two NPCs talking about the recent oxcart raids and they will point you to an NPC named Lyssandro near the ox pens. Talk to Lyssandro and agree to help him to start the quest.

    Locate the Coral Snakes’ hideout

After talking to Lyssandro, you will learn that a group known as the Coral Snakes are the ones behind the oxcart raids. Your next step is to find out where their hideout is. To do so, follow the main path the goes south into Battahl. You will meet some NPCs along the way who will give you some info about their last sighting.

Eventually, you will get a marker on the map which shows the Coral Snakes’s latest victim. The bandits will go away with their loot, but another bandit named Hugo will arrive, see your group, and then run away.

    Pursue the bandit

After seeing the bandit, pursue it by heading to the direction it runs to. You will catch up to him by the entrance to a small tunnel and run away once more.

From the tunnel, take the path to the left and you will see the bandit again up ahead taking another left.

Follow the bandit by heading to the left path, then take the right path at the next fork. You will see the bandit by a gate that leads into their hideout in the cliffs. He will tell the guards by the gate to stop you as he continues into the hideout.

Defeat the two guards and then continue on into the hideout until you arrive in the huge chasm. You will see the bandit cross the bridge to the other side, but he will break the bridge after he crosses.

Look for the platform that has a ladder on the other side and jump towards it. Then, climb the ladder and continue through the tunnel where the bandit ran into. You will find him again with some more bandits and they will run into another path, but the gate behind them closes up.

Take the open path on the right side and continue on through the tunnel as you fight through some more bandits. There will also be a chest on top of some platforms along the way which contains the Ring of Disfavor and 1,050 G. Eventually, you will find the bandit once again outdoors and he will run down deeper into their hideout.

At this point, Benjamin and his men will join you in your chase. Continue down the path and go through the next wave of bandits, then head on to the next tunnel.

At the end of the tunnel will be a cutscene where you finally catch up to Hugo. As he tries to climb up the ladder, their bandit leader, Lanzo, will kick the ladder away so that Hugo will get caught and the rest of the Coral Snakes can make their escape.

After the cutscene, talk to Benjamin and the quest will be complete. You will be rewarded with 4,000 XP and 8,000 G.
