So, we’re here, the first trailer of Jurassic World Rebirth is out. I have to say, it’s an interesting approach to rebooting the franchise. While I did love the Jurassic World trilogy, yes, even Dominion, Jurassic World Rebirth seems to explore the darkest side of the birthing process of the dinosaurs seen in the first film, Jurassic Park (1993).
Helmed now by Gareth Edwards, the director of three movies I hold dear, Godzilla (2014), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), and The Creator (2023), he’s probably the right fit to direct Jurassic World Rebirth. His diverse cast of well-known actors and actresses including Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali take the spotlight in this exciting first trailer:
Here’s a quick glimpse of when Jurassic World Rebirth is set, according to the trailer’s description:
“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.“
Jurassic World Rebirth is expected to hit the theaters on July 2, 2025.
