Last week, following the tragic death of political commentator Charlie Kirk, Bethesda’s account shared—and quickly deleted—a video clip from the Indiana Jones game. The clip featured the line: “You don’t care much about these fascists, do you?”
The timing of the post led many users to interpret it as a direct jab at Kirk’s death, sparking outrage across social media. Critics accused Bethesda of mocking the tragedy, calling the post both insensitive and unprofessional.
Bethesda’s tweet was immediately ratioed, with screenshots of the post spreading rapidly across X. Users flooded the company’s replies, demanding clarification or an apology.
This incident marks a major blow to Bethesda’s reputation. As one of the industry’s biggest developers, the studio now finds itself at the center of a heated controversy over a post many believe crossed the line.
