Warner Bros. Games has announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will now launch earlier than expected, moving its release date up by one week to May 22, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The updated schedule brings good news for fans eager to jump into the next LEGO Batman adventure, with pre-orders already available for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions. Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will receive 72-hour early access, now beginning on May 19, ahead of the global launch.
All pre-orders will also include The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit at launch, inspired by the iconic comic storyline. In addition, players can unlock the Golden Age Batsuit, based on Batman’s original appearance in Detective Comics #27 (1939), by creating or linking a Warner Bros. Games account.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an open-world action-adventure game that follows Bruce Wayne’s journey to becoming Gotham City’s protector, drawing inspiration from decades of Batman films, comics, and television while incorporating the signature humor of TT Games’ LEGO titles.
The Deluxe Edition will include additional downloadable content scheduled for September 2026, expanding the game with extra content packs. More details on the full breakdown of Standard and Deluxe Edition content have also been shared ahead of launch.
Warner Bros. Games also confirmed that several LEGO DC Batman sets will include in-game digital content tied to the game. These sets unlock exclusive items such as a gold Batsuit and special vehicle variants, including Batmobiles inspired by The Batman, Batman v Superman, and Batman & Robin. These gold variants will only be available through the purchase of the physical LEGO sets.
A Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is still planned for release later in 2026, with timing to be announced at a later date. The game is currently available to wishlist on the platform.
