Capcom has officially unveiled Resident Evil Veronica during Summer Game Fest 2026, confirming that the beloved Resident Evil Code: Veronica is receiving a full remake.
The announcement trailer offered a first look at the next major entry in Capcom’s ongoing series of Resident Evil remakes, bringing fan-favorite protagonist Claire Redfield back into the spotlight. The game is currently scheduled to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Resident Evil Veronica follows Claire’s desperate fight for survival on Rockfort Island, a remote prison island overrun by horrifying creatures and the latest nightmare tied to the Resident Evil universe. The remake promises to revisit one of the franchise’s most beloved stories while introducing modern gameplay systems and visuals.
Like recent entries in the series, the game is being developed using Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE, which powers titles such as Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem. Capcom says the remake will feature modernized gameplay and enhanced realism designed to elevate the survival horror experience.
While details remain limited for now, the reveal confirms that Code: Veronica is the latest classic Resident Evil title to receive the remake treatment following the success of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4.
Capcom says additional information about Resident Evil Veronica will be shared at a later date.
