Focus Entertainment Publishing and Uppercut Games have officially unveiled Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, a new narrative-driven first-person action game set in a twisted version of Victorian London. The title was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and is scheduled to launch in 2027.
In Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, players take on the role of Jacob, a talented stage magician whose life takes a dark turn after being betrayed by his former allies, known as the Masters. Cast into Hell and seemingly doomed, Jacob is offered a pact by the Devil himself, transforming his theatrical tricks into powerful supernatural abilities.
The story unfolds in Theatreland, a distorted underworld inspired by 19th-century London, where ambition, deception, and dark magic reign supreme. Armed with his newfound powers, Jacob embarks on a quest for revenge against the Masters who betrayed him, defeating them to steal their abilities and grow even stronger.
According to the developers, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal blends first-person combat with exploration and progression systems that allow players to combine different magical powers and adapt their approach to increasingly dangerous encounters. As Jacob ventures deeper into Theatreland’s shifting realms, he will face powerful enemies, uncover dark secrets, and confront the consequences of his pact.
The game marks the first collaboration between Australian developer Uppercut Games and Focus Entertainment. Uppercut says the project draws inspiration from the world of late 19th-century stage magic, combining theatrical spectacle with supernatural horror and action-focused gameplay.
With its blend of gothic atmosphere, narrative-driven storytelling, and magical combat, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal aims to offer a fresh take on the first-person action genre when it arrives next year.
Magicians: The Devil’s Deal launches in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass and support Xbox Play Anywhere.
