Game company Insomniac Games has confirmed recently that the PlayStation 5 version of popular video game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will not get a physical release.
After a fan asked on Twitter about the possibility of a physical release of the PS5 remaster, Insomniac Games replied with this short statement: “There are no plans to release physically.” So the best bet to get the remastered game will be via the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The developer did not state that it will be released a separate digital copy as well.
According to a statement by Community Director James Stevenson, the remastered version of the game for the PS5 is not just a simple up-res. It is said that everything has been overhauled from improved facial animation to supporting 3D Audio. It will be a whole different and improved game on the PS5 with all of the DLCs.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Standard and Ultimate Editions will be available on Nov. 12 for the PlayStation 5.
UPDATE: Insomniac Games also stated that the PS4 saves will not transfer to the PS5 remastered version of the game.
