Hogwarts Legacy Developer Leaves Avalanche Software After Backlash

A certain developer from the Hogwarts Legacy game has resigned from his position at developer Avalanche Software after a certain controversy.

Developer Troy Leavitt has left Avalanche Software after the discussion of his old YouTube channel became quite controversial on social media and in other parts of the internet last month. He has written his explanation for resigning his position on his personal Twitter account. He also promised that there will be more details in an upcoming video.

“I have made the decision to part ways with Avalanche Software,” Leavitt said. “I have nothing but good things to say about the game, the dev team, and WB Games.”

    1. I have made the decision to part ways with Avalanche Software. I have nothing but good things to say about the game, the dev team, and WB Games.

    2. I will be releasing a YouTube Video about this soon on my channel.

Leavitt’s YouTube channel usually has videos about his previous works like the Harry Potter prequel game, and other projects. Unfortunately, he also has other videos that cover right-wing criticism of Anita Sarkeesian’s Feminist Frequency videos and social justice and other controversial topics.

Did You Know Gaming video maker Liam Robertson pointed this channel out on his Twitter account last month. He described the former Avalanche Software developer as a “far right YouTuber who used to make anti-fem and pro-GG [GamerGate] vids.”

Robertson noted that he is not trying to cancel anyone, but he wants people to know about this. He felt that this is something that people should know before they could support the new project.

Leavitt shared that he made Warner Bros. know about his YouTube channel before joining the project. He thought it was not an issue at the time.

    Thanks Eurogamer!
