Rainbow Six Siege Reveals First Trangender Operator Osa

Game company Ubisoft has recently confirmed that Osa will be joining popular online multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Siege and she is the first transgender Operator.

Media outlet Gamespot was the one to first spot the “transition” in her biography, which made them speculate that she was transgender. It was during her time at the University of Zagrab where the biography mentions that she was found to have been “isolated to her unorthodox approach and others’ attitudes towards her transition.”

The big reveal of Crystal Guard and Osa

Gamespot then contacted Ubisoft to confirm of Osa’s gender orientation. The game company confirmed saying that the decision to make her as such was done early on and was actually part of their initiative to have “an inclusive roster of Operators.” They then revealed that all of the consultants for creating Osa were all transgenders so that she was presented as authentically and organically as possible.

Osa’s background was written by a queer person and voiced by a trans woman according to Ubisoft. She is now the representative of transgenders for the first time in Rainbow Six Siege.

On the official Rainbow Six Siege website, Osa uses the 556xi and PDW9 as primary weapons, her gadgets are smoke grenade and claymore, her secondary weapon is the PMM, and can use the Talon-8 Shield that can be carried around by her or deployed on floors or window frames. The Talon-8 will give players a protection and a line of sight against enemies.

Crystal Guard is now the third season of Year 6 for Rainbow Six Siege. Together with Osa, this new season adds elite customization, HP now replaces armor, some map reworks, and a lot more changes to the game.

Rainbow Six Siege is now available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
