In a new report just in today, Blizzard has announced that both Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 will be delayed with no new release windows.
This latest news came from a slide during an investor presentation with Activision Blizzard showing these. It was confirmed that both titles will be pushed to an unspecified launch window in order to create more polished and engaging products.
The reason for the delay was due to the new leadership and they think that the delay would give them more time to develop these titles further. The statement did not reveal the specific elements that delayed them even further.
Since there is no specific release window or even a year for when Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 will be released, it seems it would be at least on 2023 is the year of its launch. It is clear that it will not launch in 2022, so 2023 seems to be at least the year of its launch. Worse, it would be even further than that.
Aside from that, one the co-leaders of Blizzard are already leaving the company. Blizzard Co-Leader Jen Oneal is stepping down and that leaves Mike Ybarra as the sole head of the company now.
