Game company Konami has recently announced that older editions of popular classic Metal Gear Solid games have been removed from digital storefronts.
In an official announcement by its publisher, the removal of the titles has come through after the licenses for historical footage used in the games have expired. Yes, the ones that fans will see in cutscenes have licenses and Konami has failed to renew them recently. Due to that, certain digital copies of the titles will no longer be available for purchase starting today.
Konami did assure that the removal is only temporary as they are working on making these products purchasable once again. This means they are going to renew the licenses, hopefully in the near future.
Fans should not be worried that much as most the affected platforms are the old-gen ones only. These platforms include PS3, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Microsoft Xbox 360. They did include other platforms too like the ones on GOG.com, PS Now, and Nvidia Shield.
