Gran Turismo 7 to Increase Rewards and More in Upcoming Update

Polyphony Digital has announced the changes they are implementing for Gran Turismo 7 in the upcoming update including increasing rewards and more.

Creator of Gran Turismo and President of Polyphony Digital Kazunori Yamauchi recently wrote on PlayStation Blog of their plans for GT7. He first apologized to the public for the frustration and confusion caused last week with their recent patch updates. Aside from the server outage, it also made some adjustments to the in-game economy which angered some players since they did not explain it properly.

To make up for the mistake they did last time, Yamauchi said they are going to send non-paid credit of 1 million Cr. in-game for players who got affected. They should get it sooner or later. He says they might have to log in the game before April 25, 2022 in order to claim the free credits.

Yamauchi then explained the reason for the patch update last time. It was for fixing an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a part of the World Circuit Events. They had to recalculate the rewards system as a whole in order to balance it all out and provide more accurate rewards based on time investment and completion.

A new patch will be rolled out at the start of April 2022 to improve player experience. There will be more events and the reward system will get a better improvement in balance throughout the game.

Here are the changes in the upcoming patch:

    • Increase rewards in the events in the latter half of the World Circuits by approximately 100% on average.
    • Addition of high rewards for clearing the Circuit Experience in all Gold/All Bronze results.
    • Increase of rewards in Online Races.
    • Include a total of eight new one-hour Endurance Race events to Missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
    • Increase the upper limit of non-paid credits in player wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
    • Increase the quantity of Used and Legend cars on offer at any given time.

There will be a few more patches to be launched in between today until the end of April 2022. These will add new cards and course layouts. There will be some fixes as well.

Aside from these, Yamauchi revealed the contents they are currently working on. No official dates yet when they will get released, but they will give notification on their official website.

    • Increase the payout value of limited time rewards as we develop as a live service.
    • Further World Circuit event additions.
    • Addition of Endurance Races to Missions including 24-hour races.
    • Addition of Online Time Trials and awarding of rewards according to the player’s difference with the top ranked time.
    • Make it so cars can be sold.

Gran Turismo 7 is now available on PS4 and PS5.
