Objectives:
You wake up from your sedation after your delusional fit. Grace fills you in on what happened and tells you that Jeremy is fine. You head into the conservatory where you see Dr. Gray and Jeremy, who turned out okay and feeling better as your stab managed to actually lobotomize him. After the talk, you will unlock the Back to Normal Achievement. Make sure to talk to Dr. Gray and Jeremy again for a conversation and exhaust their lines.
Go back to New Orleans with Jeremy and Emily Hartwood
Head down into the conservatory where you get to talk to the rest of the people in Derceto. If you have managed to talk and have an additional conversation with everyone at this point (from both Edward’s and Emily’s runs), you will unlock the Chatterbox Achievement.
Go to the fountain if you’re ready to proceed to the next cutscene. As you wait for your partner, almost everyone in Derceto urges Dr. Gray to start the ceremony. Despite his hesitance, the doctor is convinced and everyone starts their chants. The ritual is then started with Grace being hung to the tree in her own volition to play the part as the sacrifice.
The tree then starts moving. You decide to help Grace, but you get restrained by Batiste. Your partner arrives and shoots Batiste’s leg, setting you free and letting you shoot MacCarfey and drop Grace back to the ground. Everyone screams in horror as the ritual is broken and the creature, known as the Black Goat of the Woods, has now ran rampant, killing almost everyone it sees.
Stop the Black Goat of the Woods!
After the initial carnage, go up the ramp to the side which leads up to the rooftop. You will find ammo and drinks along the way, so make sure to stock up and reload all of your guns to prepare for the fight ahead. Create a save point before heading down into the hole which goes back into the mezzanine where the boss monster is at.
This boss can attack using its tentacles, plus it can spit at you which can deal damage and slow you down. Your objective is to shoot at the orange pustules which appear on parts of the boss’ body to deal damage to it and stagger it.
After shooting enough pustules, the boss will slam its tentacle to the ground and sends you a floor down. It will become immobile for a few seconds as it spews out smaller enemies. Clear the enemies out, then once the boss stands back up again, focus on shooting the pustules on its legs.
After shooting the leg pustules, the boss will drop back down, allowing you to easily shoot the pustules on its head. The tommy gun is good at clearing out the pustules quickly, while the shotgun and pistol are effective against the smaller enemies. Make sure to use the molotovs against mobs to quickly dispatch them.
Once the boss has taken enough shots to the head pustules, a cutscene will play where the house will collapse on it, finally killing it. You then join back up with your partner outside the burning manor, joined by Jeremy and Grace. The group then decides to head back to New Orleans, taking Grace along with them.
