Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage during the Ubisoft Forward 2022 presentation.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Beginnings of Basim
This new upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, will be a shorter, more narrative-driven game than the previous two games in the series. It will take place 20 years before the events of AC Valhalla, as players take on the role of the 17-year-old Basim. In this era, he is struggling with nightmarish visions and living life as a cunning street thief.
Basim meets up with the Hidden Ones and fortunately, they see his potential. They help him flee Baghdad to the Hidden Ones’ fortress of Alamut. He learns their mysterious rituals and powerful tenets and hones his unique abilities. He discovers his true nature and comes to understand a new Creed.
Built as a Homage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is built as an homage to the first Assassin’s Creed games. Players will be joining the proto-Assassin order known as the Hidden Ones and grow to become a master assassin. Baghdad in the night century was a metropolis filled with life, which is the perfect place for urban hunting targets using the series’ largest assortment of tools to date. As Basim explores the city, he will be able to get contracts and upgrades from a network of Hidden One bureaus throughout the city.
Parkour is the greatest advantage for assassins in this game as it returns to a large-scale urban environment. Basim will need to leap across rooftops, scale tall towers, and feel guards by parkouring seamlessly through Baghdad’s four distinct districts. Use Basim’s eagle Enkidu to take the skies, survey areas, and tag enemies for Basim to stealthily eliminate.
Deluxe and Collector’s Case
Choose from different editions including the Deluxe Edition, and the Collector’s Case. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a deluxe digital pack containing a Prince of Persia-inspired outfit, eagle and mount skins and weapons, and more.
The Collector’s Case includes everything available in the Deluxe Edition plus a 32cm figurine of Basim, and exclusive Steelbook with a design chosen by fans, a mini-artbook, Basim’s brooch replica, a map of Baghdad, and a Selected Soundtrack of the game. The Collector’s Case will be available at retail and on the Ubisoft Store.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches in 2023. It will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
