Blizzard Entertainment veteran has been appointed as the new Warcraft’s executive creative director.
Blizzard has recently appointed Chris Metzen as the new Warcraft’s executive creative director. He was one of the original team members who worked on the Warcraft universe when it started in 1994. He was in the company for 23 years before he retired in 2016 before he rejoined the studio again as the creative advisor for Warcraft’s leadership.
“We are excited to share that Chris Metzen has taken on a full-time role as Executive Creative Director of the Warcraft universe,” Blizzard announced. Right now, his main focus is supporting our World of Warcraft leadership in crafting the next generation of adventures.
“Chris was instrumental in developing the foundations of the Warcraft universe, and we are thrilled for him to re-join our teams in shaping what’s to come. At BlizzCon, he and the team will be sharing what we’ve been working on. We hope to see you there!”
The upcoming BlizzCon will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from November 3-4 2023. This will be the convention’s first in-person event since 2019.
