According to a report, Call of Duty 2023 will be another Modern Warfare title, just like last year which is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier recently shared new information about Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty entry for this year. He revealed that this game was going to be a “premium expansion” for last year’s Modern Warfare 2, but now it has become its own standalone game, which has now broken the series’ regular pattern of cycling its sub-brands like Black Ops and Modern Warfare.
It is reportedly being developed by Sledgehammer Games which also handled Call of Duty Vanguard. The studio is going to be assisted by Infinity Ward, the makers of Modern Warfare sub-brand.
Schreier also revealed that the game will include familiar maps and modes from last year’s game. It would include last year’s Modern Warfare 2 story too.
Infinity Ward and Activision have not shared any statements to confirm or deny these claims yet, but Schreier has a good reputation as an insider.
