COD:Infinite Warfare sales reported to be down by half

Despite having the 2nd largest launch in UK for 2016, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare sales is reported to be down by 50 %, according to Eurogamer and various other game news sites. Compared to last years Black Ops 3, the latter is only selling half as well. One factor adding to Activision’s loss would be Infinite Warfare’s lack of last-gen console releases. Though, even if last-gen losses were accounted for, the drop in sales would still be significant at 43.6%. Another factor would be the rather cold reaction fans gave IW since it’s unveiling back in May. Garnering a rather unpleasant backlash from COD fans, the game’s unveiling became one of the most disliked videos on YouTube.

Further criticism stems from Activision’s decision to have “Modern Warfare Remastered” be bundled with Premium versions of Infinite Warfare.
