Cyberpunk 2077 System Requirements Get Tweaked Ahead of DLC Launch

Big changes have come but old specs will work.

CD Projekt RED has recently changed the Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements ahead of the DLC launch.

Cyberpunk 2077 System Requirements Officially Tweaked

Since Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is launching in a few months, CDPR is already making some changes to the game’s system requirements to make sure that players have a better understanding of what will be required to play the game. These new changes also reflect how the PC gaming hardware has changed in three years since the game’s original release. This includes support for new GPU hardware.

“The changes to the minimum requirements are a reflection of our new standard of requirements, which we believe better represent the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p, while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at low preset,” CDPR said. “The reason for making these changes is that updating the requirements is an important part of the game improvement process, and of enhancing and adding new features.”

SSD is the New Storage Device

Based on the new system requirements, one of the significant changes to them are the removal of hard drive support. Instead, it is highly recommended to have an SSD now. Still, HDDs will still work, but the active support for them will be ended and future updates will no longer be tested on HDD-based PC builds.

Here are the new PC specs:
