In Dave the Diver, you have multiple staff you can hire and you can choose between applicants for every ad you send out. At the beginning of the game you’ll only be able to hire basic employees whose skills aren’t up to par. It isn’t until you’re able to afford better advertising for your sushi bar that more competent staff will show up. Each employee is separate by tier starting from Bronze, to Silver, to Gold, to Platinum, and then finally Diamond. The higher they are on that tier, the better they are as employees. Each will have stats that make them suited to doing different tasks for your restaurant.
