Abandoned Cave is the fourth chapter in Dave the Diver. Tenzhin has tasked Dave with finding out what is going on underneath the Divine Tree, but Dave has to retrieve the key to the Glacial Passage inside the Abandoned Cave. Read ahead as we go through the events of Abandoned Cave in Dave the Diver and share some helpful tips for a great playthrough.

Objectives:
To the Abandoned Cave
On the following day, travel back to the Sea People village and talk to Tenzhin. He will then send Suwam to escort you to the Abandoned Cave entrance.
Find Glacial Passage Key
Once inside the Abandoned Cave. Head towards the left and you will eventually see a Gadon behind a cage. Pass through this for now and make your way through the path ahead to reach the mural.
The mural shows a simple puzzle that you need to solve. Copy how the mural looks like using the rocks in the room. Starting from the left, place 1 circle rock, 3 rocks with the square on top, and 2 rocks with an X on top. This will then give you the key to the Glacial Passage.
Deliver Key to Tenzhin
Pick up the key and prepare to leave. As you do, another quake happens which breaks the cages holding the Gadon. Now that the Gadon are free, they will start roaming the cave. The path that you took earlier has been sealed, so you will need to find another way.
Make sure to stay undetected by the Gadon as they are fast swimmers and once you’re caught, you will have to start over. They cannot be hurt by any of your weapons. They can see about a fair distance and they have a set patrol path, so try to find some nooks that you can hide in. Also, there are statues that you can hide behind which allows you to stay hidden even if they swim past.
Another thing to look out for are the spike traps; look for the right time to get past them. Once you manage to exit the cave, you will then be face with your next encounter.
How to defeat Armored John Watson
John Watson is back with a new suit of armor. This time, he also has seeker missiles that can follow you, however they can only do so for a short period of time. With this in mind, you can use this to your advantage.
Start by swimming towards the chest and getting the bat inside it, then prepare to hit the incoming missile with it. Make sure to wind up your bat first then release it on time as the missile comes close.
After managing to hit John twice with his missiles, he will then go into his rage mode where he dishes out a new move. He gets the ability to unleash several mines towards your area. You will need to swim around these mines to a safe spot before they explode.
After the fourth hit, John’s armor will be destroyed, but he ditches it and retreats to his sub. His suit explodes and leaves a piece of debris. Pick up the debris before heading back to Tenzhin.
Back at Tenzhin’s house, you tell Tenzhin about the Gadons that you have encountered. He then goes on to tell you their origins and how they ended up in the cave. Afterwards, Tenzhin gives you the Sea People Necklace and tells you to rest up and meet them again tomorrow.
As you head back up to the boat, another quake will happen. Continue on with either a night dive or help out with the sushi bar for the night.
Enter the Cave
Before the night ends, you will switch to Dr. Bacon’s perspective as he heads back home. Suddenly, his radar detects a signal on land and not underwater. He decides to follow the signal and it leads him to a cave.
Investigate the Old Cave
Inside the cave, you’ll see three murals with symbols on top of them. Pay attention to the symbols in red and take note of them. Up ahead is a locked door with a combination panel on the wall. Input the symbols on each of the squares in the same order from left to right and it will open up the door.
The next room is a grisly sight as there are bones all around. There are also murals that depict what happened when the sea people gave the humans the fruit not knowing that the fruit is toxic to humans. This made the humans retaliate against the sea people instead.
Up ahead is a chest that contains the Sea People Rebreather. After taking it, you’ll hear chatter from outside the cave. You will then find that pirates have arrived and spotted you. You then quickly get on your boat and then a chase ensues.
Escape the Pirates
Your next objective is to get away from the pursuing pirates. They will be shooting at your direction as you weave through rocks on the water.
Pay attention to the laser that appears just right before they shoot, then move away from it. Also, look out for the yellow exclamation mark as this signals that you are about to get into the rocky areas. Try not to take too much damage and you will eventually shake off the pirates.
The chapter then ends. On the following day, Dave decides to head back to the Sea People village to see if there are any other tasks he could do.
