Dead Island 2: All Lockbox & Keys Locations Guide

Lockboxes in Dead Island 2 offer interesting rewards like weapons, cash, and blueprints. The idea is to look for the uniquely named zombie that possesses the key to the lockbox. If you manage to kill it, the loot is yours for the taking.

In this guide, we’ll go over all the lockbox locations we’ve found in Dead Island 2. We’ll also give you an approximate location of the zombie holding the key, as well as the loot inside the lockbox.

It is worth noting that zombies who have keys won’t appear after discovering the location of a lockbox. In the case of Apex Variants, they won’t appear until you progress through the story and encounter them for the first time. Other zombies are located a great distance away from the lockbox. But no matter how far, they are all found on the same map. And finally, some keys are tied to side quests and Lost & Found quests. They won’t be accessible until you pick up their respective quests.

Additionally, some named zombies can randomly appear while you are doing main storyline missions. This may lead you to kill them without knowing who they were. At least the keys are easy enough to spot, even at longer ranges.

Lockbox location: On the back of the pick-up truck behind Emma’s Mansion
