The Dead Space Remake offers plenty of ways to upgrade your equipment so you’re always finding new ways to fight back. The Prototype Stasis Module is one weapon upgrade that adds shock to your stasis which roots enemies to the ground. It sounds useful, but it’s a bit confusing to get. Here’s what you need to do to get the Prototype Stasis Module in Dead Space Remake.

How to Get the Prototype Stasis Module in Dead Space Remake?

To get the Prototype Stasis Module, pick up a tissue sample in Chapter 5 which starts the Premediated Malpractice side mission in Dead Space Remake. Complete the side mission’s objectives until you reach the Hydroponics where you can find the Prototype Stasis Module on a table nearby.

After picking up the module, the Prototype Stasis will automatically be installed in your suit. You do not need to go to a store or upgrade bench in order to submit schematics. Your stasis will be upgraded with this module the moment you pick it up which may have confused some players as to where it went after they got it.

What Does the Prototype Stasis Module Do in Dead Space Remake?

After getting the Prototype Stasis Module, your stasis attacks will now completely immobilize enemies instead of simply slowing them down. It also adds shock to stasis so it also provides continuous damage until the effects wear off.

How to Complete Premediated Malpractice in Dead Space Remake?

You need to complete the Premediated Malpractice side mission in order to get the Prototype Stasis Module in Dead Space Remake. This involves getting a tissue sample from the Hunter Necromorph that’s been chasing you throughout Chapter 5: Lethal Devotion.

After defeating the Hunter, you’ll be able to pick up a Tissue Sample which triggers the beginning of the Premediated Malpractice side quest. Once you have that, go back to the Main Lab in Medical and interact with the DNA Scanner. This will then take you to the Bridge, and then to Hydroponics where you can finally pick up the Prototype Stasis Module.
