Under the Ice is one of the pursuits in Dredge: The Pale Reach. The fisherman discovers several figures trapped in ice. They appear to be the crew of the previous expedition who somehow got encased in ice, yet their trapped souls still live on within them. They cry to be freed, but at what cost? Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Under the Ice pursuit in Dredge: The Pale Reach.
Under the Ice Pursuit Walkthrough
To start the Under the Ice Pursuit, you must first complete The Narwhal Pursuit to get access to the camps. You will also need to complete the Icebreaker Pursuit to gain the icebreaker that will let you get the necessary items to complete the objectives.
Start off by heading to the Central Camp, where you can find the first ice shard which contains the Captain. You can talk to it, but you cannot break it out of the ice shard just yet. Go back on your boat and head to J-4, where you will find a dredging spot that has an Ice Axe. Use this axe to break the shard and free the soul of the captain. This will also show a huge creature closing one of its eyes. You will also receive a Frozen Heart in return.
Next, head over to the Western Bearing, but as you make your way there, go to the dredging spot at F-5 to find another Ice Axe. You can then set the soul of the navigator free, close another one of the monster’s eyes, and get another Frozen Heart.
Next, head to the Eastern Terminus, but take a detour over at K-4 to find another Ice Axe. You will also find a Rock Slab nearby where you can slot in the Frozen Heart to get a special fishing equipment later on. Go to the ice chard and release the spirit of the Boatswain.
Finally, go to the Southern Locus, where you will find the huge monster encased in ice. You will also find the Ice Axe nearby, as well as the ice shard containing the First Officer. After freeing its soul, the huge monster will freeze up completely, and its horn will shatter, dropping a piece of it into the water. You can dredge it out to get the Aurous Anchor, which you can drop from your ship to create a two-way portal to Blackstone Isle.
Go back to the Rock Slab and place all four Frozen Hearts on it to get the Radiant Trawl Net which can catch Ice, Oceanic, Coastal, and Shallow fishes. This will be helpful in completing the requests for the Figure in White Pursuit.
