Rumor has it that the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller can last four hours longer compared to the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4.
According to a Reddit post, the user viper_on_fire recently posted a video talking about the DualSense controller (now deleted) with a video proving that he had a working one. There were some details revealed, which were known already to the public, but the life of the controller’s battery was the significant one.
The rumor stated that the extended battery life could be due to the lightbar being replaced with a smaller and dimmer light strip. Compared to the DualShock 4 controller that had a super bright default lightbar, this one can now last longer without it. This could also mean that the DualSense will not work together with the PS VR. The buttons were described to be the same as the previous gen controller, but the touchpad is more responsive and clicky.
The source also stated that L1 and R1 buttons act more like a trigger now and the L2 and R2 triggers are harder to push down. They have not used the haptic feedback yet, but they are hoping it can be tested later on.
Unfortunately, no other posts were revealed recently and other users are worried that the one who handed the controller to the source will get fired from Sony Interactive Entertainment due to NDA.
PlayStation 5 is coming this coming holiday season.
