Microsoft didn’t hold back this time at its Xbox Games Showcase 2024, and as far as the number of games announced, a ton of games are coming to Xbox Game Pass, making the service much more alluring to consumers. It’s been, by far, the best showcase they’ve compared to last year’s Xbox Games Showcase 2023 and the recent State of Play by PlayStation.
Here are the all the announcements from Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase 2024.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gameplay Reveal
The release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled for release on October 25, 2024. Described as a “spy action thriller” set in the 1990s, the game will feature a campaign mode and introduce 16 new multiplayer maps, most of which are tailored for 6v6 battles. Additionally, the popular Zombie mode will return, and an open beta will be available prior to the launch of Black Ops 6.
Doom: The Dark Ages
Doom returns with a fresh twist, taking players on a journey to uncover the origins of the Doom Slayer in an all-new prequel adventure. The brief but captivating trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages revealed a novel battle against Hell’s forces. As in the previous installments, the Doom Slayer is equipped with his shotgun and incredible speed and strength. However, this time, he also has a formidable shield, which he can use to close in on foes, stun them, and even hurl it at enemies like a deadly frisbee.
State of Decay 3
State of Decay 3 made a long-awaited return at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 after several years of silence. The latest trailer offered glimpses of an escalating zombie menace, the battle for survival, and the challenge of building a new life for your expanding community of resilient homesteaders.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The latest trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard provides an in-depth look at the companions you can enlist on your journey through a fantastical world. You’ll be able to recruit seven distinct companions, each with their intricate backstory to uncover. BioWare promises this installment will build upon the lore, worlds, and characters established in previous Dragon Age games.
The new companions include Harding, a skilled scout; Neve, a sharp-witted detective; Emmrich, a master necromancer; Taash, a fierce dragon hunter; Davrin, a steadfast warden; Bellar, who navigates the Veil; and Lucanis, a formidable mage-slayer.
Starfield: The Shattered Space
Starfield returns with an exciting expansion called The Shattered Space. This new addition focuses on a mysterious force emerging in the city of Dazra, located on the secretive homeworld of House Va’Ruun. Players will delve into this cosmic threat, uncover unique weaponry, and acquire new, sophisticated gear as they journey through the vast reaches of space.
Fallout 76 – Skyline Valley
Fallout 76 is expanding its world with new terrain for players to explore in Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic setting. Starting June 12, 2024, players can head south to Skyline Valley, where they’ll encounter a mysterious electric storm and uncover the secrets hidden within Vault 63.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Among the new titles featured during the showcase was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the debut game from Sandfall Interactive. Scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2025, this RPG will have players embark on an expedition to defeat the Paintress, a relentless adversary determined to eliminate the last remaining human survivors.
South of Midnight
South of Midnight unveiled its first gameplay trailer, highlighting its folktale-inspired setting and third-person action gameplay. The trailer provided more insights into the game’s narrative, which is set in the town of Prospero, ravaged by a hurricane. The protagonist, Hazel, must navigate a Southern Gothic world where reality and fantasy merge. The game is set to release on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2025.
World of Warcraft: The War Within
Azeroth’s champions prepare to face a new threat as World of Warcraft’s latest chapter, The War Within, launches on August 26, 2024.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
The latest gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gave fans a glimpse of the enhanced visuals and immersive 3D audio that await them in this reimagined Big Boss prequel. Age of Mythology: Retold

Perfect Dark

November 19, 2024, marks the official launch date for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and it’s shaping up to be an even more ambitious endeavor than its acclaimed predecessor. Asobo Studio has crafted a vast and varied fleet of aircraft for players to pilot, promising an immersive and visually stunning experience as they explore a meticulously detailed virtual Earth.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Max Caulfield, the protagonist of the original Life is Strange, returns in a new narrative adventure. Years have passed since her time in Arcadia Bay, and now Max is determined to uncover the truth behind her best friend’s death. Using her newfound power to manipulate timelines, she sets out to unravel a complex mystery. The first two chapters of Life is Strange: Double Exposure will be available to players on October 15, 2024.
Mecha BREAK
Mech enthusiasts can look forward to a new multiplayer shooter coming in August 2024. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
