Are the Fortnite servers currently down right now? Fortnite servers will have a scheduled maintenance update according to the official Twitter account of Fortnite Status as of 4 a.m. ET (8 a.m. UTC) Monday, March 20, 2023.
This is the scheduled maintenance for the Fortnite Update v24.01:
Fortnite Server Maintenance Status
In order to check on the status of Fortnite’s server maintenance, players will only need to check the official Twitter account of Fortnite Status and Epic Games Status page. It has an updated feed of information about the game’s server maintenance and downtime status.
Update v24.01 has now begun rolling out across all platforms and regions. Matchmaking were disabled 30 minutes before downtime.
For those who want to know detailed information about server maintenance and downtime, check the official website of Fortnite and go to the Help Center page. It will offer exact information on what happens during the start, ongoing, and end of the maintenance and downtime of the game’s servers.
When Will Fortnite Servers be back online?
There is currently no way to know how long Fortnite’s servers will be down for maintenance, although they should be back online soon on the same day. As disabling matchmaking can take up to three to four hours, we expect the Fortnite servers to be back up and running by 8 a.m. ET | 12 p.m. UTC | 5 a.m. PT.
At this time, just the Fortnite website will be accessible online. Players will be unable to sign into Fortnite or gain access to its features, including the game’s Item Shop, Fortnite Crew, or matchmaking services.
Note that all other Epic Games services should continue to function normally. After the latest Fortnite patch has been implemented, the servers will automatically be made available for players once again.
Regarding Fortnite Downtime and Future Updates
Fortnite maintenance and downtimes are usually due to major content updates, or minor updates every tuesday that either change or remove content. The game does not do weekly maintenance, so expect announcements way ahead of the schedule to let players know before the downtime.
