Fortnite Shanta quest guide - How to complete challenges and rewards

Now we are all set for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Flipped. After an interesting prologue where you get to hear Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s voice over as The Foundation, you’ll be warped into the new chapter of Epic Games’ popular battle royale along with an amazing intro featuring the amazing Spider-Man in Fortnite.

A new chapter also means an all-new battle pass. One of the quests in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is the Shanta Quests. This may seem relatively easy as you’ll simply pick up sacred gems scattered around the map, but you’ll be facing a bunch of Seven Sentry henchmen in one of the challenges.

What is the Shanta Quest in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1?

The Shanta Quest is the first quest to be offered in the latest chapter and season beginning of Fortnite. Shanta is one of the initial characters you get to unlock after you purchase the Fortnite Battle Pass.

Players will be searching for blue gem fragments scattered across the map to unlock Shanta armor pieces and earn 200,000 worth of experience points. Much like all the other quests in Fortnite, they can be marked on the map when you check the quest details from the game’s lobby under the ‘Quests’.

How to complete the Fortnite Shanta Quest challenges?

Collect gem fragments outside Seven Vaults – Locations

To find these gem fragments, they are located under every guarded outpost in the marked areas of the map (check the image above). The houses are easily identifiable because of their light brown color that looked like they came from a Star Wars film, with a circular closed door with red light strips. These houses are heavily guarded by Seven Sentry henchmen.

The 7 gem fragments outside the Seven Vaults are all located in these areas in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1:

Northern part of Camp Cuddle.
The East of Chonker’s Speedway.
The Southwest part of Greasy Grove.
One of the islands just above The Joneses.
The Northeast part of The Daily Bugle.
Middle part of the map, just a few clicks down the southwest of Coney Crossroads.
Northeast from Logjam Lumberyard.

Just bear in mind that you need to be prepped first before going to the designated areas. You will need guns and a few healing items as you’ll surely take damage from an enemy AI or if it’s a hot zone where players decide to land during the bus drop.

While there are seven gem fragment locations, you only need 6 to complete the quest.

Collect gem fragments at Gas Stations – Locations

Getting the gem fragments at Gas Stations in Fortnite is particularly easy as there aren’t enemy AIs guarding the perimeter, however, it’s still dangerous because of active players roaming the vicinity and they’ll kill you if they get a chance.

Located in the East of The Daily Bugle.
Can be found in the southern part of The Perch.
The gem should be in the Butter Barn just south of Rocky Reels.
Northeast of Rocky Reels just south of Puddle Pond.
Western part of Loot Lake.
In the southwest of Frosty Field.

You won’t be looking too far for the gem fragments at Named Locations. As the name of the quest suggests, you will find the gem fragments in the named places or locations on the map.

Collect gem fragments at Crossroads – Locations

When collecting the gem fragments located in the map’s crossroads, you better need to look for a ride. They’re located mostly in crossroads as what the quest name suggests. By looking at the map above, you should see where the gem fragments are (marked as red stars).

Northern part of Coney Crossroads.
West section of Arid Acres.
In between Seven Outpost II and Logjam Lumberyard.
Eastern part of Pinnacle Peak.
Southern section of Broadcast Bunker.
Between The Joneses and Sanctuary.
Northern part of Camp Cuddle and just by the northeast of Seven Outpost V.
South of Chonkers Speedway.
Western part of Puddle Pond.

Collect gem fragments inside Dirt Mounds – Locations

You need to look for, you’ve guessed it, dirt mounts and excavate the gem fragments off of them by destroying them with your harvesting tool. They have a following beam of light coming out from dark-brown dirt.

Here are where you can find all 8 gem fragments inside dirt mounds:

Northwestern part of Rocky Reels.
In the swamp area located in the west part of Sanctuary.
Close to Seven Outpost VII.
By the Impossible Rock located in the northwest of Condo Canyon.
Near the area of Pinnacle Peak.
Northern section of Greasy Grove.
By the beach southeast of Condo Canyon.
The Loot Lava Volcano Station by the easy of Coney Crossroads.

Searching for gem fragments in the landmarks’ area can be a little taxing if you don’t know your way around yet. Thankfully, we managed to find all the locations for you.

Collect gem fragments at docks – Locations

Another easy Shanta Quest. You only need to go to the docks marked on the map above. The gem fragments are pretty easy to find when you arrive at the docks.

Here are all the 7 gem fragments found in the dock locations in Fortnite:

Logjam Lumberyard
In the Washout Warf landmark, just a few clicks north of Logjam Lumberyard.
North of Sleepy Sound.
South of Shifty Shafts, the Loot Lake area.
Cuddle Cruisers landmark area, east of The Daily Bugle.
In the Sunburned Shacks area, east of Sanctuary.
In the Launchpad island, in between Sanctuary and the Looper Landing landmark.

Collect gem fragments near characters – Locations

The gem fragments can also be found near non-playable characters. They’re easy to find, you just have to look for them.

Here are all the 10 gem fragments near characters:

A gem fragment near Lt. John Llama in lower left part of Logjam Lumberyard.
A gem fragment near Cuddle Team Leader in Camp Cuddle.
Another gem fragment is found in Camp Cuddle inside on of the cabins outside where Cuddle Team Leader is.
A gem is located above one of the houses in the north of Sanctuary.
A gem fragment is also located in the Launchpad island on top of the house located in the middle.
A gem fragment can be found in front of The Daily Bugle entrance door.
A gem fragment is found in the second floor of the ice cream/waffle shop in the Coney Crossroads.
A gem fragment is located in the Seven Outpost II landmark in the northwest of Logjam Lumberyard.
A gem fragment in Greasy Grove is found in one of the outdoor shops. Look for a building with canoe boats outside and tents inside.
A gem fragment can be found in the southwest of Rocky Reels.

Collect gem fragments on rivers using vehicles – Locations

Picking up gem fragments on the rivers while riding a vehicle is definitely fun. You can either use a boat or a car, whichever, and you should be able to pick up the gem fragments.

North of Camp Cuddle.
The curved river found in the southwest of Logjam Lumberyard.
The river just located in the southeast of Sleepy Sound just a few clicks away from the bridge.
North of Coney Crossroads.
West of Coney Crossroads.
Between The Daily Bugle and Sanctuary, and the southeast of Coney Crossroads.
East of Camp Huddle.
Between Greasy Grove and Rocky Reels.
North of Chonker’s Speedway.

Collect gem fragments high in the air – Locations

Now this one is a little tricky. Some of the gem fragments are literally in the air. In order for you to get them, you either need to build a flight of stairs or glide through them, but the former is a more suitable and easy option.
