With the announcement of Genshin Impact version 2.3, a new character event wish mechanic has been introduced and it looks to be confusing. Let us walk you through the new Genshin Impact Character Event Wish 2 mechanics.
What is Genshin Impact – Character Event Wish 2
The Character Event Wish 2 is a new Wish Type that will be added when Genshin Impact Version 2.3 will launch this coming November 24, 2021. In this mechanic reruns of past characters will be featured and this coming banner it will feature two 5-Star characters Eula and Albedo. Both will be featured and some fans are confused as how will that work since most banners only promote 1 5-Star character and the rest are 4-star characters.
According to the recent post by miHoYo, the wish guarantee count for Character Event Wish and Character Event Wish 2 will be shared and will be accumulated between both. The other wish types like Standard Wish and Weapon Event Wish will not be affected and this will only be for this particular banner. Character Event Wish 1 and 2 will have the same base probability and rules for characters and weapons of various star ratings.
Genshin Impact Character Event Wish 2 – How Does It Work?
When Character Event Wish 2 gets added, the banner will have both two 5-Star Characters upfront. The wish guarantee count will be shared on both and will accumulate between them as well. Here is an example on how it will work.
If a player will fail on obtaining the 5-Star character after making 50 Wishes in the Character Event Wish 1, and want to transfer to Character Event Wish 2, that 50 wishes count will transfer to Character Event Wish 2. They are now guaranteed to get the 5-Star character from Character Event Wish 2 and not from the original one.
If you got a 5-star character that is NOT featured in the Character Event Wish and want to transfer to Character Event Wish 2, the next 5-Star Character will be guaranteed the promotional character from Character Event Wish 2.
It is guaranteed, all the time, that at least 1 of the 10 wishes you get from the Character Event Wish banner will be a 4-Star Item either a weapon or a character, so it also applies here. For example, if you failed to get a 4-Star character or weapon after making 6 wishes in Character Event Wish and want to transfer to Character Event Wish 2, it will be guaranteed that at least 1 of the 4 wishes you get will be a 4-Star character or weapon.
Same as the 5-star character above, if you obtained a 4-star character from the Character Event Wish that is not featured in the banner and will transfer to Character Event Wish 2, then they will get a 4-star character from the second banner now. The count will transfer there and will abandon banner 1.
The count will carry over to the next Character Event Wish and Character Even Wish 2 in the future after the first one ends.
Character Event Wish 2 Availability
Character Event Wish 2 is not a permanent event. This will be featured in Genshin Impact from time to time. It will not be a constant banner feature for players to wish on since miHoYo will want to introduce new characters as a priority. There will be a new announcement later on to reveal the specific release time for these banners.
