A new post has recently revealed the reason for the lack of the popular Quidditch sports game in Hogwarts Legacy.
For newcomers who do not know about the Harry Potter universe, Quidditch is a fictional broomstick-based sport where players fly around with magical broomsticks and try to score a goal, basically. Many fans of the franchise love Quidditch and it has been a staple for various Harry Potter games in the past. This is why many of them are complaining about why Hogwarts Legacy will not have the sport. This new post is going to answer the reason for that.
To clarify, the developers of Hogwarts Legacy made it known that there is no Quidditch in the game when it got announced.
A Possible In-Game Reason Why Quidditch Isn’t Part of Hogwarts Legacy
Recently, it was revealed in a reddit post that the sport is actually missing due to a plot point in the game. A screenshot revealed a scene where a Hufflepuff student dropped the reason. They said that it was the decision of Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black who canceled the sport in-game.
For those who cannot clearly see the text on the image, this is what the student says about Quidditch: “Professor Black was terrible before he decided to cancel Quidditch. That decision was the icing on the Cauldron Cake, if you ask me.”
As for the reason for Headmaster Black’s decision to cancel Quidditch, no one knows yet. It could be answered later in the game’s narrative and Black will explain it to the students. Players will have to play the game and complete the story to find out.
Hogwarts Legacy launches on February 10, 2023, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will be released on April 4, 2023, while the Nintendo Switch version on July 25, 2023.
