Troll Control is one of the side quests that players can complete in Hogwarts Legacy. Alexandra Ricketts took a very dangerous risk of training a troll to serve as a protector of their hamlet, but she sees it as an impossible task and now needs help on eliminating the troll.

Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Troll Control side quest in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to unlock Troll Control Side Quest

To unlock the Troll Control side quest, you must first complete the Tomes and Tribulations main quest, then travel to Brocburrow.

    Troll Controll Objectives

    • Talk to Alexandra Ricketts
    • Go to the Troll’s Den
    • Dispatch Alexandra’s Troll
    • Return to Alexandra

    Troll Control side quest Walkthrough

After completing the required quest, fly over to Brocburrow where Alexandra Ricketts will be available to talk to.

    Talk to Alexandra Ricketts

Go over to Alexandra Ricketts’ house and talk to her. She’ll reveal that she’s having problems gathering the courage to defeat the troll that she’s trying to train.

    Go to the Troll’s Den

Follow the quest marker over to the Troll’s Den where you’ll find the said troll.

    Dispatch Alexandra’s Troll

You then have to defeat the troll on a one-on-one fight. Look out for its attacks:

    • Swing – It swings its club sideways; can only be dodged.
    • Slam – It slams its club downwards; can be parried.
    • Throw – It throws a boulder at you; can be parried.
    • Charge – It charges at your direction; can only be dodged.

The best spells to use against the troll are Glacius to slow it down, and Flipendo to do a counter-attack which allows you to use its club to hit the troll after it slams it to the ground.

    Return to Alexandra

Go back to Alexandra to report about her troll and complete the quest.

    Troll Control Rewards

After completing the quest, you will be rewarded with the following:

    • Troll Hat
    • 180 XP + 150 XP after defeating the troll
