Venomous Valour is one of the side quests available for players in Hogwarts Legacy. Duncan is being bullied for being a coward and he needs some help in getting something dangerous to serve as proof that he isn’t a coward.

How to unlock the Venomous Valour Side Quest
To unlock the Venomous Valour side quest, you must first complete Professor Hecat’s Assignment 1 main quest. In this main quest, you’ll also learn the Incendio spell which will be needed in this side quest.
Venomous Valour Objectives
- Talk to Duncan Hobhouse
- Find and enter the Hidden Herbology Corridor
- Obtain Proof for Duncan
- Collect a Giant Venomous Tentacula leaf
- Return to Duncan
Venomous Valour side quest Walkthrough
After completing the needed quest, head to the Astronomy Wing to find Duncan Hobhouse.
Talk to Duncan Hobhouse
Speak to Duncan and he will ask for your help in getting him a dangerous plant.
Find and enter the Hidden Herbology Corridor
Follow the quest marker through the Central Hall, Bell Tower, and finally outdoors to the walls of the castle where you’ll find a door behind vines. Cast Incendio on the vines and then go through the door to the corridor.
Obtain Proof for Duncan
Make your way through the corridor while casting Lumos to ward the Devil’s Snare from your path.
Collect a Giant Venomous Tentacula leaf
As you explore the corridor, you’ll eventually find a Tentacula plant. Interact with it to get a Giant Venomous Tentacula Leaf. Take the ladder nearby which will lead back up to the Greenhouses.
Return to Duncan
Head back to Duncan to report your findings and give him the leaf to complete the quest.
Venomous Valour Rewards
After completing the quest, you will be rewarded with the following:
- Venomous Tentacula Robe
- 180 XP
