You may be wondering how much time you’ll have to spend to beat The Callisto Protocol. This linear survival-horror game may offer a thrilling experience but only if you have the time to put in the hours it takes to finish the game. Let’s talk about how long you’ll be spending to beat The Callisto Protocol.

How Long Is The Callisto Protocol?

The Callisto Protocol will take about 12 to 14 hours to beat its main campaign. This was according to Glen Schofield, who is the head of Striking Distance Studios, when interviewed about the game’s length by Edge magazine in issue #377.

Now while The Callisto Protocol can be considered a linear game, it isn’t as straightforward as it initially appears. According to Schofield, since the game takes place in one of Jupiter’s moons there is a lot of restricted movement, however players will occasionally be presented with different paths to take on their journey. This is called “beta paths” which gives players some degree of exploration.

Players seeking to complete everything The Callisto Protocol has to offer may take even longer as they do have the option to upgrade weapons. For completionists looking to get every achievement/trophy, you will need fully upgrade a weapon for the You Need A Gun achievement. How long to beat The Callisto Protocol

The time it’ll take to beat The Callisto Protocol isn’t far from its spiritual predecessors. In comparison, it takes an average of 12 hours to beat Dead Space 3. What’s interesting is that Glen Schofield previously worked as the co-creator of the Dead Space franchise for Visceral Games.

Now while the The Callisto Protocol on average takes about 12 to 14 hours to beat, your experience may vary depending on what difficulty you select and how often you take to chew the scenery. The Callisto Protocol is shaping up to be a tough horror experience and you may find yourself dying frequently. Take some time to master the game’s blend of shooting and using melee attacks to dispatch the horrors of space.
