How Long To Beat The Last of Us Remake?

People are asking how much time they’ll spend to beat The Last of Us Remake. Chances are, you’ve already played through the game either through its 2013 original release or the 2014 remastered version. And now you may be thinking if the game’s length has extended or reduced past its roots.

How Long Does It Take To Beat The Last of Us Remake?

It would most likely take you a little under 15 hours to complete The Last of Us Remake. Since this remake also includes the Left Behind DLC which is about 2 and a half hours worth of content, this means that you’ll be playing for about 17 hours give or take.

Those who want to get 100% and platinum The Last of Us Remake will take twice the amount of time. You’ll have to look around for certain collectibles like Firefly Pendants and comics to earn their respective trophies. This task is made easier thanks to the ability to replay any of the game’s chapters you’ve already completed. This means that you won’t have to replay the game all the way from the beginning if you missed a collectible.

The difficulty you’ve selected will also be a deciding factor and may extend your playtime if you choose to play on harder difficulties. You will die more often and have less resources to craft tools forcing you to be more careful in engagements.

Did Naughty Dog Add Content to The Last of Us Remake?

Naughty Dog did not add any new content to The Last of Us Remake besides the visual upgrades. The gameplay is the same as its original version which lacks the innovation it has in its sequel. This is very much still the same The Last of Us that we know and love.

The Last of Us Remake shares the same content as its remastered counterpart. Only the visuals have been remade from ground up. Gameplay and environments have largely remained the same, baring multiplayer.

Does The Last of Us Remake Have Multiplayer?

It’s been confirmed by the PlayStation Store that the Last of Us Remake will not have multiplayer. If you were hoping to spend time playing against other players as either the Fireflies or Hunters, this is sadly not available in the remake. Only the single player campaign and its DLC is available.

We hope this answered your question of how long to beat The Last of Us Remake. Despite not having any additional game time, there’s still a lot of tense moments to be had in the game that makes it worth another buy. The Last of Us Remake is scheduled to release in September 2, 2022.
