The long-awaited first of three DLC expansions for Remnant 2 is finally here. The Awakened King continues the bloody saga between the Dran and the Fae. But before you can get into this world, there are a few things you need to know before anything else.
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about starting up the new Remnant 2 DLC. This is mostly aimed at players who have yet to play Remnant: From the Ashes and might not know how accessing the content works. For long-time veterans, you will find that accessing the content is the same as it was back in the original game.
For starters, you’ll need to have purchased the Awakened King DLC to gain access to the Losomn map. For PC users, if you have the game already installed, there will be an 80 or so GB update waiting for you. This should also be the same for console players as well, though with different file sizes.
Once you’re in the game and loaded up a save file with one of your characters. Go to the World Crystal in Ward 13 and select Adventure Mode.
As pictured above, you’ll see the Awakened King One Shot tab on the far right when you select a new adventure. This is what you’ll see the first time you’re going in.
The One Shot Adventure is truly a welcome feature for one big reason. It allows us to access most of the content out of the gate by giving a static adventure unaltered by procedural generation. That means, for the first run, all experiences will be the same for all players. Procedural generation will start to kick in on subsequent runs.
After the One Shot Adventure is completed, elements from the base game will be added, further altering the adventure in more unexpected ways.
Once you have done all that you need to do to prepare, you are free to start the Adventure whenever you wish. I highly recommend bringing your best builds on this run. I didn’t have a very fun time going around the play with a ‘fun build’. Enemies hit hard and the boss arenas are smaller than most seen in the base game. You better bring your “A-Game” for this one.
Also, before you leave, you should know that the devs have added a few wares to the Ward 13 vendors’ stock. I suggest visiting Cass and Dwell before going off on your newest adventure.
And that’s everything you need to know about accessing the Awakened King DLC in Remnant 2. There are many more secrets to find over several runs. And I’ll try my best to write down all my findings very soon. In the meantime, you can check out my Ritualist Archetype guide.
