There seems to be a misunderstanding currently about the way we acquire Neomuna weapons to deepsight farm. The issue is that we expect the weapons to drop from the Terminal Overload events as it was back in Witch Queen. But that’s not the right way of going about it. Bungie has changed the way red border weapon drops work and there are some things we need to make clear about the new weapon set.
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about deepsight farming Neomuna weapons in Destiny 2 Lightfall. We’ll tell you which weapons are craftable, where they are dropping, and how you can deepsight farm them.
Where to find Neomuna Weapons
There are eight weapons in the Neomuna weapon set. Five are craftable while the other three can only spawn as random rolls.
The craftable Neomuna Weapons include:
- Round Robin Handcannon
- Phyllotactic Spiral Pulse Rifle
- Iterative Loop Fusion Rifle
- Volta Bracket Sniper Rifle
- Dimensional Hypotrochoid Heavy Grenade Launcher
As of right now, the rest of the weapon set does not have a deep sight weapon pattern. Random rolls have a chance to appear by opening the second chest at the end of Terminal Overload events. Those weapons include:
- Synchronic Roulette Submachine Gun from Liming Harbor
- Basso Ostinato Shotgun from Ahimsa Park
- Circular Logic Machine Gun from Zephyr Concourse
As noted earlier, each of the weapons is location locked. And the Terminal Overload events rotate on a daily basis. If you are aiming to farm for a god roll of a specific weapon, you will have to wait a couple of days for the rotation to get back.
How to Get Red Border Neomuna Weapons
Before you can start farming red border weapons, you first need to acquire the first instance of one for you to get them as a drop out in the world. This is what you need to do in order to get deep sight weapons for the Neomuna Weapon Set.
Dimensional Hypotrochoid Heavy Grenade Launcher
- Lightfall Campaign reward
Volta Bracket Sniper Rifle
- Lightfall Campaign reward
Phyllotactic Spiral Pulse Rifle
- Lightfall Campaign reward
Iterative Loop Fusion Rifle
- Acquired after completing the From Zero side quest.
Round Robin Hand Cannon
- Acquired after completing the To Hero side quest.
Where to deepsight farm Neomuna Weapons
The way to farm weapons is to boost your reputation with Nimbus. The idea is to rank up as quickly as possible with Nimbus so that you reach rank 30 faster. This upgrade ensures that Neomuna engrams contain a guaranteed Neomuna weapon. Be it a red border or otherwise. It’s random so you never know if what you’re getting is the weapon you want.
You also want to aim for Rank 15 with the Cloudstrider. The “Upgrade Terminal Overload Key Chest” is what you want to have to get a guaranteed Neomuna Weapon after opening the second chest using a Terminal Overload Key. Do keep in mind that these will only spawn random roll Neomuna weapons, not red borders. But you’ll want to have them regardless.
The best way to deep sight farm right now is to take part in Heroic Patrols. For some reason, heroic patrols have a very high chance of dropping a Neomuna Weapon, deep sight weapons included.
To activate a Heroic Patrol, you’ll first need to part participate in regular patrols. Do enough of them and a gold patrol icon will appear when you scan the area. When you see that golden icon, drop everything and go pick up this patrol.
All these essentially ask the Guardian to go to a specific spot on the map, clear that area of enemies, and fight a mini-boss in the end. The boss is quite tanky so you may want to bring the best weapons you have in your arsenal.
To further cut down on farming time, you may want to run the Lightfall campaign with two other characters. This will ensure that 3 out of 5 for Dimensional Hypotrochoid, Volta Bracket, and Phyllotactic Spiral. The same also applies to the Iterative Loop and Round Robin. It’s a bit time-consuming but it is all worth it in the end if it eliminates as much RNG as possible.
And that’s all there is to farming deepsight Neomuna weapons in Destiny 2 Lightfall. We hope this helps you out by lessening the grind a bit. We will update this article should more farming methods become available.
