How to Get Tier 2 Insect Axe in Grounded

Grounded Tier 2 Insect Axe cover

As players try to gather more materials for their shelter and gear in Grounded, they will eventually find themselves in need of a higher level axe to harvest some of the higher tier materials. The Pebblet Axe can only go so far, so it is essential for survival to get an ae upgrade.

In this guide, we will talk about how to get an upgraded tier 2 axe in Grounded.

How to unlock the Tier 2 Insect Axe in Grounded

The Insect Axe is the tier 2 axe in Grounded, and it can be unlocked through a couple of ways, such as:

  • Analyzing a Ladybug Head, a Silk Rope, or a Bombardier Part
  • Reaching Brainpower Level 6

Going for the option to analyze a Ladybug Head is the relatively easier and safer option since you can definitely cheese a Ladybug by climbing up a high surface and hitting one with a lot of arrows. It can be quite an expensive and laborious task to go for this route since the Ladybug Head is only a chance drop and you will need dozens of arrows to bring one down, but it beats hunting down an even tougher and more aggressive Bombardier Beetle or risk going into the Spider Caves to get some Web Fibers for the Silk Rope. Then again, you will have to do the other options to craft the axe eventually.

As for the Brainpower route, you will have to gather thousands of points to level up to level 6, but you will also unlock several crafting recipes that will help you survive a little bit better. Regardless of which route you choose, it will be worth the effort once you have the Insect Axe in your hands.
