We need more troops to fight the bug menace, so you better get us that Starship Troopers: Extermination crossplay features! For a game that lets you play in a 16 player match, it’s best that we get a larger pool of players to draw from. Cross-platform play is the best way to bypass restrictions on players playing on the same server.
Starship Troopers: Extermination Crossplay Support Explained
Starship Troopers: Extermination is not crossplay compatible since the game is only available on PC at launch. To date, there have been no announcements from developer Offworld Industries about a console release or the addition of cross-platform play features, and the game is currently only accessible on PC.
Starship Troopers: Extermination just launched in early access on May 17, 2023. Not many Early Access games release on consoles, so it’ll be a while before we see this game on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, if ever. There aren’t any plans to port the game to consoles for the time being, though it may be announced soon as Starship Troopers: Extermination exits Early Access, which, according to one of the developers, will be approximately one year.
In the Steam Community forums, a developer for Starship Troopers: Extermination went on to shed some light on a potential console release of the game in an FAQ:
“Right now, the Starship Troopers: Extermination team is focused on the game’s Early Access launch on Steam. While we’re aware of the demand for a console release, our current goal is to release on PC first. However, not even the Ministry of Paranormal Warfare knows what the future holds!”
Since you can team up with a group of sixteen players, Cross-platform play would be greatly beneficial to the game if it ever releases on consoles, especially with the upcoming Starship Troopers Extermination roadmap and updates. We need more recruits to join us in the fight against bugs, and we need a united front on every platform.
That’s everything we know about Starship Troopers: Extermination crossplay and cross-platform features.
