Substory #5: Welcome to Hawaii, Mfer! Location
The Welcome to Hawaii, Mfer! substory can be encountered in Chapter 3 after Kasuga comes out of the Revolve Bar after spending his first night there.
Substory #5: Welcome to Hawaii, Mfer! Walkthrough
Upon exiting Revolve for the first time, Kasuga will meet Kei, a worker of the bar. Several game mechanics will then be introduced throughout this substory.
First, you will encounter your first timed response where you have to choose a respose, or not, within a limited time. Personality points can be earned depending on the response you give.
Next, you will then be introduced to Aloha Links which is the game’s own SNS. Through this app, you will be able to make friends throughout Hawaii just by waving at them. NPCs that have a special smiley icon on top of their heads can be waved at which will then make them your friend.
The more you interact with your friend, your friendship meter with them will also fill up, eventually upgrading your friendship to best buddies. Your buddies can then give you special gifts. Other than waving at friends, you can also try to help them from being harassed, or, in the case of shopkeepers, you can buy goods from their shops.
Making friends will also help improve Kasuga’s personality traits, and the more friends you make, the more gifts you get from Kei; she will send you a text message to come meet her at Revolve after meeting a friend milestone. You can have a total of 200 friends throughout the game.
You can check the Aloha Links app on your phone to see the friends that you have made so far and even customize your profile page.
