In a recent post by Amazon Game Studios, it was confirmed the team cannot increase the Lost Ark EU server capacity.
Some players of the recent free-to-play ARPG might have wondered of the addition of the new region, Europe West with new servers instead of just increasing player capacity on existing ones. In the new post by Amazon Game Studios Community Manager TrevzorFTW, it was revealed the team could not do anything for the Europe Central region because of the game’s underlying structure.
“The Europe Central region is at capacity and unfortunately there is no way to increase the number of players per world in Europe Central,” TrevzorFTW shared. “Adding more servers is not possible based on the complexity of all the systems that need to work together.”
Lost Ark does not fully support server transfers too. In Southeast Korea, the country where this game originated, a server transfer option just got released, but it has some conditions. It is a manual process that is run weekly, and the worst bit: it does not support cross-region transfers. The western version has that as well, but just like the Korean version, it can transfer within the region, but cannot transfer to another. So transferring from Europe Central to Europe West is not possible.
The game studio did promise that they will look for other options first.
In the meantime, choose your regions and servers wisely.
Lost Ark is now available on PC.
