Insomniac Games Creative Director Brian Horton recently posted on the official PlayStation Blog talking about the upcoming standalone video game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to clarify some things.

According to Horton, the game will be a standalone one, which lets players experience the rise of Miles Morales as he discovers new powers that will set him apart from Peter Parker. He assured that the upcoming game will be a full story arc with Miles and it will be like the game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in terms of overall scope. The development team is now working hard on creating this game to make the Miles Morales adventure a reality.

The concept actually started years ago when Marvel’s Spider-Man Creative Director Bryan Intihar suggested that Miles Morales should be part of the same universe as Peter Parker. They also included him at the end of their E3 2017 demo, which shocked fans.

With the power of the PlayStation 5, the game will show off near-instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio and the DualSense controller. The characters have been upgraded with 4D scans and improved skin shading for a more realistic look. The hair is now spline-based, which makes it move naturally. The city’s assets have been updated as well to take advantage of the new console.

Horton also hinted that there are still many stories that Peter Parker will tell in this game series. It could be speculated that they are now working on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
