It has already been 1 year since the release of Mortal Kombat 1 and fighting fans have been loving this game for its content, visual graphics, and more. With numerous new updates and new DLC characters, fans wanted to see more of what the new era of MK1 has to offer. Recently, a new DLC story trailer was announced for MK1, and out of nowhere, returning MK characters and new guest characters have been announced as well.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Regins Announcement Trailer Revealed
The new DLC Story of MK1 takes place after the events of MK1 story mode where Liu Kang sensed an impending danger coming to all the realms once more. The mastermind behind this dangerous force is Havik as he amasses an army that will wipe all the realms and turn them into an extension of Khaos realm. Below is the story summary based on the main website
“After repelling the invaders who endangered Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era of peace, Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns expands the story campaign with an all-new cinematic narrative. When a perilous threat arrives from an alternate timeline, led by the ruthless Titan Havik whose sole mission is to throw the realms into khaos, Liu Kang must rally his champions and put faith in his enemies to defeat this grave danger. If they fail, the New Era will be reduced to anarchy.”
In this trailer, we can see as well familiar characters such as Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot who will make their debut in this new era. But aside from them, MK1 will be receiving new guest characters and they are the following:
- Ghostface
- A serial killer who appeared in the movie Scream and has been considered a symbol of terror by many locals as many individuals have donned its mantle
- T-1000
- played by Robert Patrick in the legendary film, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, this cyborg was sent by Skynet to kill a young John Conner in the past.
- Conan The Barbarian
- He is a powerful warrior who seeks to avenge the genocide of his people and the murder of his parents at the hands of a snake cult.
Also added to Mortal Kombat 1 is a free update where a fan-favorite feature comes back to the Mk series and it is ANIMALITY. For those who don’t know that this is, this feature transforms their chosen fighters into their animal spirit and brutally finishes off their opponents. This feature will be added for free on the next update of MK1.
The DLC story of Mortal Kombat, Khaos Reigns will be available on September 24, 2024. Upon the release of the new Khaos Reigns story, Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot will be playable if players manage to purchase online the Kombat Pack 2 however the release of T-1000, Conan, and Ghost Face will be announced soon.
