Prepare for an Excursion is a quest in Nightingale where the Explorers of The Watch help out players in their new quest to venture into the ascended realms where there are tougher challenges to face. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Prepare for an Excursion quest in Nightingale.
How to unlock the “Prepare for an Excursion” quest
The Prepare for an Excursion quest will be unlocked once you have arrived at The Watch and have talked to Allan Quatermain, the leader of the Explorers.
Because of the increased difficulty of your journey into the vaults and the ascended realms, Allan suggests that you talk some of the expert explorers within The Vault. But before leaving, he ask you of your preference:
- Efficient and reliable – Unlocks Rugged Core Tools
- Better suited for magick – Unlocks Ornate Core Tools
The Rugged and Ornate Core Tools are bench augmentations that can be used to create either physical-based or magick-based tools, respectively. You can go for either one then simply purchase the recipe for the other one from one of the essence traders in The Watch.
Find the best means to improve your gear
The first person to talk to is Barnabus Dent, The Watch’s expert on gear, to get better equipment.
Head to the ground floor of The Watch where you can find Barnabus and talk to him. Afterwards, he will give you a sample of his goods, the Striking Peacoat (Cotton) which has a huge gear score.
Secure your access to the Rumour Mill
Next, you need to talk to Peter Smith-Jones who can be found on the same level of The Watch. Peter will give you some information about the apex creatures that you will be facing up ahead.
Learn how to survive the Apex Vaults
Finally, head to the lower lobby where you can find Shiv Pierson. Talk to Shiv and she will warn you about the dangers of the vault and share some details about Jana, a spirit that passes from beast to beast. The quest is then completed and you will then be rewarded with the following items:
- x1 Great Rejuvenating Potion
- x1 Death Infusion (Critical Damage)
- x3 Etched Ingot (Silver)
- x1 Focal Shard (Diamond)
You will then be able to take on the next quest, Keep the Beasts at Bay.
