Nintendo recently shared a statement to assure their fans after a recent confirmation of the new price made them worried about future Switch games.
Yesterday, it was rumored that the upcoming and most anticipated Switch game this year, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom was going to have a price change and it was not something to celebrate. Leakers revealed that it was going to cost $70 and that future first-party Switch games might also have the same price ranges. After the Nintendo Direct showcase, it was confirmed that the game was going to cost $69.99. This worried many Nintendo fans as they thought what the leakers said might come true.
Nintendo has now released a statement to Game Informer to assure fans that this is not the case at all. It claimed that this is not the start of a new permanent price increase for its games.
“We determine the suggested retail price for any Nintendo product on a case-by-case basis,” said the spokesperson of Nintendo.
Will this finally make fans relax? Only time will tell because most of them are really fond of first-party titles and they might not like them at a bit more expensive prices.
