Phasmophobia: All Voodoo Doll locations and how to use it

A complete guide that explains how the Voodoo Doll works in Phasmophobia an where to find them on each map.

Phasmophobia All Voodoo Doll locations and how to use them

In Phasmophobia, the Voodoo Doll is one of seven cursed items, which are objects that can be used for identifying the ghost, triggering events, or even completing optional challenges. The Voodoo Doll has 10 pins. Interacting with the doll forces the ghost to react, but you can’t predict the outcome. Like all cursed items in the game, the Voodoo Doll is pretty dangerous, but it can be beneficial once you know how it works and can handle the risks that come after.

As such, this guide will explain how to use Voodoo Dolls and where to find them on each map in Phasmophobia, so read on.

How to Use the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia

How to use the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia?

The Voodoo Doll can be used to force a ghost interaction just by interacting with it. After picking it up, interact with it to push a pin in (right-click on the mouse, RT/R2 on a controller). This forces the ghost to interact with something nearby. You can’t control the type of interaction because the pins will move randomly. There is a cooldown between uses, preventing you from rapidly poking the doll. If it happens that the pin on the heart moves, it will trigger a ghost hunt regardless of Sanity.

The Voodoo Doll has 10 pins, you can use it up to 10 times, and each pin will cost you 5% of your Sanity respectively. However, your Sanity will drain by 10% if you pierce the heart. If you have less than 5% Sanity and use the Voodoo Doll, then all the pins will be pushed down rendering it useless and a Cursed Hunt will begin.

The Voodoo Doll excels at forcing interactions to help confirm evidence, especially with:

  • Fingerprints
  • Ghost Orbs
  • Spirit Box
  • Ghost Writing

Using the doll can also help fulfill Reward objectives involving ghost interactions. But you should always be prepared for a hunt when using the Voodoo Doll. Smudge sticks, crucifixes, and knowing where the hiding spots are essential for managing the risk. You can also hide in a closet while interacting with the Voodoo doll to avoid getting caught in case it triggers a hunt.

If you want to have a Voodoo Doll in every game, change your Cursed Possessions quantity (under Contracts in Custom Difficulty) and make sure to include a Voodoo Doll. This way it will be guaranteed to spawn once you load into a map. Here’s where to find all Phasmophobia Voodoo Dolls on every map.
